Vanilla Beans

We source all our Vanilla beans from Madagascar and East Africa. Pods from Madagascan are described as being creamy and sweet, with vanilla overtones. Some people refer to these beans as Pods, but it means the same thing. We prefer the term beans.

The best quality beans regardless of where they come from, are dark skinned, soft and pliable and we only source the best Grade A black pods. Use the strongly aromatic beans split to get more flavour from the thousands of tiny seeds inside the pods.

Vanilla Beans

Our beans are sourced ethically with good market rates paid to the growers. They are also cultivated organically without the use of chemicals or artificial fertilisers. Although the beans are not officially certified organic, they are cultivated using organic methods. The rich soils in the growing regions require no artificial fertilisers and as vanilla orchids have a high level of natural resistance to pests and diseases, no chemical sprays are used.
